Services

SoulFilling exists to be a beacon: for the adoption community, for those who support them, and for leaders and workplaces who believe in the power of human-centered wellbeing. Through writing, workshops, digital tools, and professional training, I help individuals and organizations cultivate the skills and mindsets that allow people to flourish—in their lives and in their work.

Flourishing is intentional, grounded, and deeply human. And it’s within reach for all of us.

Offerings Include:

Programs & Workshops:

  1. Flourishing in Adoption for adoptive families, adoptees, birth parents, and adoption professionals.

  2. Flourishing for Clinicians for adoption-competent therapists and agency staff.

  3. Flourishing at Work, a leadership and HR-focused wellbeing training drawing from my 20+ years of HR experience.

Speaking Engagements:

As an author and entrepreneur, I’m passionate about highlighting what’s going right in adoption and creating meaningful connections at home, work, and school. Through my uplifting stories and insights, I empower adoptive families, birth parents, adoptees, and advocates to explore adoption in a positive, mainstream light. Whether you’re hosting a conference, community event, or workshop, my message is designed to inspire, educate, and connect.

Book Readings & Signings:

I love sharing my book, Brianna’s Brave Day at School, with young readers and creating meaningful conversations about adoption in a way that feels positive, relatable, and empowering. I’m available for book readings at classrooms, libraries, bookstores, and events, where I engage children with an interactive reading, discussion, and activities that celebrate bravery, belonging, and understanding. Whether you’re an educator, librarian, or event organizer, I’d love to bring this story to your community.

Why is this work important?

For much of modern history, adoption narratives were shaped by secrecy, silence, and stories centered almost entirely on difficulty or loss. Even today, media and popular culture often spotlight only the most challenging aspects of adoption, rarely portraying the fuller picture of growth, connection, and resilience that also exists. Over the past 25 years, the field has evolved, open adoption practices have expanded, voices across the triad are being heard more clearly, and adoption-competent therapists are elevating the standard of care nationwide.

Yet despite this progress, I saw a missing conversation: Where was the language of flourishing? Where was the science of resilience, strengths, and post-traumatic growth being meaningfully applied to adoption?

That question became my calling. I am now pursuing my Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) at the University of Pennsylvania, the world’s leading program in the science of well-being, resilience, and human flourishing, to explore how these evidence-based tools can help shape a more expansive and hopeful future for the adoption community. My work centers on developing an Adoption Flourishing Framework that honors the realities and complexities of adoption while illuminating the pathways through which individuals and families can grow, heal, and thrive.

Before founding SoulFilling, I spent more than 20 years leading people, teams, and organizational culture initiatives. My background in HR leadership taught me what individuals and workplaces need to feel supported, engaged, and connected, insights that now shape my work with adoption-focused organizations, agencies, and professionals.

Today, I partner with adoption agencies, mental health providers, educational institutions, and mission-driven organizations that want to bring a more holistic, strengths-based, and science-backed approach to their services. I translate the research on psychological flexibility, resilience-building, meaning-making, and strengths-based growth into practical tools that professionals can apply directly in their work with adoptees, birth families, and adoptive parents.

Through writing, teaching, consulting, and digital resources, my mission is to help the adoption field move toward a future where conversations don’t end with overcoming hardship, they expand into what it means to truly flourish.

A small personal joy: outside of my professional world, I’m inspired daily by the simple moments, reflections, photography, conversations, and quiet pauses, that remind us we are always capable of growth and new meaning.

At the heart of SoulFilling is a belief I hold deeply: When we offer people the right mindset, the right language, and the right support, we help them move forward with clarity, connection, and confidence, toward lives that feel full, grounded, and flourishing.

"Fran has been my go-to person to discuss some of the most important issues in my life for almost 25 years. When my kids were born, she was always there to help coach me through some difficult parenting moments. She advised me during my teenage daughter’s 4-year struggle with depression, as well as my son’s problems picking a college. She is an amazing listener and offers thoughtful advice. She brings her own spiritual journey, her parenting experiences, and her own beautiful life story to the table when she counsels people. Whether you have adoption in your story or not, Fran is a great resource and Coach to engage with for your next parenting workshop or event or at any time on your parenting journey. Everyone needs a Fran."
