About SoulFilling

SoulFilling elevates the adoption conversation by teaching individuals, educators, professionals, and organizations how to bring more clarity, balance, and growth-centered tools into the way they navigate adoption. Through practical content, workshops, and webinars, I focus on building the strengths, skills, and connection that help people approach adoption—and life—with heart, perspective, and well-being.

Adoption—like life—can be complex, and it can be beautiful, and everything in between. It’s not about ignoring any part of our story, but about living all of it with more strength, clarity, and intention.

I started SoulFilling because the adoption landscape is evolving. With adoption-competent therapy, stronger laws, more open adoptions, and more triad voices gaining visibility, this is the right moment to introduce flourishing, resilience, mindset, and emotional well-being into the adoption conversation.

Positive psychology teaches us that resilience, strong relationships, meaning, perspective, and post-traumatic growth can be strengthened over time. SoulFilling helps people build that reservoir through practical tools, reflective practices, and learning experiences that support personal, educational, and professional settings.

If this mission resonates and you want to bring stronger, growth-centered adoption conversations into the work you do, the next step is simple: explore how SoulFilling can partner with your organization to strengthen the communities you serve.

About Francine

Francine Annese Apy is the founder of SoulFilling, a writer and speaker dedicated to elevating the adoption conversation through growth mindset, positive psychology, and balanced, triad-inclusive dialogue. With more than 30 years of lived experience as an adoptive mom and a background in HR leadership, Francine blends warmth, clarity, and practical insight to help individuals, educators, professionals, and organizations navigate adoption with steadiness and intention.

She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is studying the science of resilience, strengths, connection, post-traumatic growth, and human flourishing. This evidence-based foundation shapes all of her work and informs the tools, language, and frameworks she brings to adoption spaces. By integrating core concepts of positive psychology, meaning, mindset, relationships, and well-being, Francine helps others understand how these capacities can be built early, before challenges arise, and how they can strengthen the way we approach adoption throughout life.

SoulFilling grew out of Francine’s belief that adoption conversations can be more grounded, compassionate, and hope-centered when we draw from both lived experience and scientific insight. Today, she collaborates with adoption-focused organizations, schools, agencies, and community groups to spark more balanced, thoughtful, and triad-inclusive narratives. Her work emphasizes acknowledging complexity while also amplifying the many ways individuals within the adoption community are living their stories well, and why celebrating those realities matters.

Her podcast, Flourishing in Adoption, serves as a gathering place for these conversations—highlighting voices across the triad, exploring positive psychology concepts in everyday language, and helping people recognize the strength, resilience, and possibilities within their own stories.

Francine’s Catholic faith plays a quiet, steady role in her work, not as something to preach, but as a reminder that believing in something larger than ourselves can offer strength, purpose, and peace throughout life’s most complex and beautiful journeys.

Through SoulFilling, Francine is helping reshape the adoption narrative—elevating conversations, strengthening communities, and supporting individuals as they navigate their stories with growth, connection, and grace.
